Autumn Term 2021

Classes restart on Thursday 9 September 2021
from 7 pm – 9 pm in the first instance. This will be reviewed after a month.

The class is progressive and inclusive of everybody, starting with a warm-up, step practise and formations, and moving onto simple dances followed by more challenging dances as the evening develops.

We want everyone to feel as safe as is reasonably possible when attending class, and to achieve this we encourage everyone to play their part through following the guidance below.

Please do not attend class if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, colds, ‘flu or other viral infection. As part of your self-assessment, please consider carrying out a lateral flow test on the same day as the class.

To minimise viral risk to yourself and others you should, ideally, be double vaccinated.

As the kitchen is closed for the time being, please bring your own refreshments.

Please be prepared for doors and windows in the hall being open to allow a continuous flow of fresh air.

Please use hand sanitiser frequently during class and particularly after each dance.

Please ensure that the club has your up-to-date contact details.

In line with government guidance, we also kindly ask you to show consideration for others by sanitising hands on arrival and maintaining social distance off the dance floor; we also encourage the wearing of masks as and when you feel it’s appropriate.

Also, please note, the church requires us to sanitise any chairs that we use; therefore, we would ask that if you need to use a chair, please sanitise it and put it away after use.

By adopting these measures, we can reduce transmission as much as is practically possible; however, just how effective they are is ultimately down to individuals, and so the committee cannot give any guarantees of no transmission.

Please come and join us at the Methodist Church Hall, Lorton Street, Cockermouth.
